NZ Orthopaedic Association (NZOA) ANNUAL CME Meeting Queenstown • New Zealand: 17-19 July 2009 Theme : Shoulder and Elbow Meeting Invitation to Queenstown On behalf of the New Zealand Shoulder and Elbow Society I would like to invite you to our Continuing Medical Education meeting. Shoulder and elbow surgery has rapidly evolved over the past ten years. The arthroscope has led to a better understanding of pathology and has enabled new techniques to treat our patients. Arthroplasty, trauma surgery, cuff surgery and instability surgery advancements are all driven by our understanding of normal anatomy and our efforts to reproduce it. For many of us, new techniques such as reverse shoulder arthroplasty, arthroscopic cuff repair, labral surgery and elbow releases were on the horizon ten years ago but are now part of our daily practice. The meeting is not just for the shoulder sub-specialist, but also for the general orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery. At the end of the meeting you will have a broad overview of each of these topics as well as emerging concepts and techniques. Queenstown is a wonderful winter playground. The meeting has been timed for the last weekend of the NZ school holidays. You can plan a week with the family before the meeting or avoid the lift queues and go skiing the following week.
